Marissa “Girlie” Zulaybar

Marissa or Girlie Zulaybar finished her Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Industrial Relations at the University of the Philippines. She has been a consistent honor student while UP. She also finished the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management, where she graduated as one of the most Outstanding Students.

She started her career 25 years ago in the banking industry and then moved to the Electronics industry before she retired 5 years ago from Intel Philippines, where she was the top HR executive.

She has undergone various HR training here in abroad especially in the areas of Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Organizational Development and HR Information Systems.

She is an active PMAP member and has been a facilitator/instructor of HRMDC’s programs especially in the fields of Compensation and Benefits and Recruitment for the last 5 years.

Ms. Zulaybar is a seasoned Rewards Management practitioner dating back her experience 25 years ago when she started as a Job Analyst in one of the major banks in the Philippines. She then became the Comp and Benefits Manger of TMX Phils and then Intel Phils for about a total of 10 years before moving up her career ladder as the top HR Executive in Intel. She has organized Comp and Benefits groups, first, in the banking industry and then in the Electric Industry to facilitate the exchange of Comp and Benefits data. In fact, this informal group has been the forerunner of the Association of the Personnel Administrators in the Electronic Industry of which she is the founding member and 2-time President. Girlie is also a former member of the American Compensation Association and is currently the Secretary of the Compensation Management Society of the Philippines. She is also the leader of the Rewards Management track of PMAP’s HRMDC Programs.

After her 25 years of experience in the highly paced industrial setting, Girlie, is now semi-retired and is doing HR Consultancy projects in the fields of Comp and Benefits, Recruitment and Organizational Development in various companies.

This mother of 5, is an active member of Couples for Christ, and is also an organizational consultant of her parish in Alabang.
