Atty. Emerico O. De Guzman, FPM
Upon obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of the Philippines (UP), he was thereafter exposed to the field of recruitment and employee relations as an employment/staff assistant in the Human Resources (HR) Dept. of US Industries Phil. in 1976. While he was the Assistant Department Manager of the Human Resources Department of a government corporation, he obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree from UP in 1982. In 1983, when he joined the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW), a reputable institutional law firm with more than 100 lawyers, he was exposed to the handling of various legal cases, including those involving labor, litigation, and corporate issues. In 1987, when he was promoted as a Senior Associate, he primarily focused his attention to the practice of labor relations law. Such line of work regularly exposed him to the conduct of CBA negotiations, labor litigation, representation of various clients in the conciliation, mediation and voluntary arbitration of labor disputes and various employer-employee issues, and industrial relations consultancy. He continues to be active in such work to date.
Atty. de Guzman has been a Partner of ACCRALAW since 1990. In January 2003, he became the youngest Senior Partner of said Firm. He is currently the Monitor of its Labor Department and is the Partner-In-Charge of performance evaluation for the legal staff.
