Miss Thelma Geraldine A. Baricaua is an internationally respected consultant in Human Resources Management, Organization and Career Guidance and Development. Highly skilled in customizing and facilitating learning experiences for adults (managers, leaders, and teams), Miss Baricaua, assists organizations explore new paradigms of effectiveness and challenges individuals to raise their level of performance and ability to respond positively to change. She has had over twenty five years of extensive exposure and experience in the industry as human resource management, organization, and career development practitioner and trainer; and, in the academe as educator and guidance administrator.
She is currently the President of HR Approaches, Inc. and a resident Consultant on Organization Development and Training at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital.
A much sought-after consultant and trainer, she has developed and conducted numerous courses in the areas of Strategic Planning, Trainers’ Development, Leadership and Executive Development, Corporate and Personal Values Alignment, Team Building, Interpersonal Skills, Personal Empowerment, Self-Management and Inner Growth, Holistic Stress Management, and Career Guidance and Development. Thousands of employees at all levels have participated in her workshops not only here in the Philippines but in Asia-Pacific as well.
Miss Baricaua has worked before with the Pulse Group of Companies (now AC Nielsen) as the Director for Human Resources. The Ayala Corporation, its subsidiaries and such as Globe Telecom, Ayala Land, Ayala Life, Ayala Plans; Nestle in the Asia Pacific Region (Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, India, and Sri Lanka), Pilipinas Shell Petroleum, Kraft Foods Philippines are among her many clients. She also served as consultant for several consulting firms such as Career Systems, Inc., The Philippine Psychological Corporation (PPC), Ateneo Human Resource Center (HRC), The Malaysian Institute of Personnel Management, The Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), and the Maxima Management Services in Malaysia.
She holds a certificate in philosophy (Ateneo University)bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with the distinction of obtaining the highest grade point average ( St. Louis University) and a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling as a FAPE Scholar (De la Salle University). She is also a doctoral candidate in Personnel and Human Resources Management (University of Santo Tomas). A consistent academic scholar from grade school to graduate school, she has been a recipient of scholarships and travel grants to pursue special studies in career development, group dynamics and processes in the Philippines, in the United Kingdom, and U.S.A.
In the field of counseling, she is involved in the education and formation of counselors in Asia specifically those who are pursuing a master’s degree in counseling at the De la Salle University. She is past President of the Philippine Association for Career Guidance and Development (PHICGUIDE), a network of human resource management practitioners, guidance counselors and career development specialists in the industry, government, and education sectors. For two terms, she was Vice-President of the Philippine Association for Counselor Education, Research, and Supervision (PACERS).

- Designed and developed training modules on leadership, supervisory development, trainers development, team building, values integration, and work and personal effectiveness and conducted the same to thousands of employees of Ayala Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates, Nestle in the Philippines, and in Asia-Pacific, over a period of 15 years.
- Designed assessment instruments and learning experiences for all levels of the
organization, from top management to factory workers/rank and file
- Counseled and coached executives of client companies on their career and
personal concerns.
- Acted as consultant to HR staff of client companies on matters relating to training, organizational issues, and on-the-job concerns;
- Assisted client companies in the formulation of their vision-mission , strategies and goals and OD framework;
- Assisted in the values management program of Ayala Corporation from identification, clarification, and definition and developed the module on how these values can be integrated in the daily life of employees.

- Professionalized the Human Resources Department by systematizing personnel policies, employee services, performance management systems, compensation and benefits, training and organization development etc.
