THE NEW PMAP FOR ALL MANAGERS

As I turn every page of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People, I am amazed by the amount of authority these people have on the world. It is truly remarkable how human as they are that they can actually transform the society we live in. The issue featured leaders, artists, scientists and revolutionaries like Queen Elizabeth II, Politician and Scientist Al Gore, Physicist Lisa Randall, talk show icon Oprah Winfrey, and even young pop star Justin Timberlake, among others.

It makes me wonder how these individuals can stand out and what it is that makes them unique. Is it their brand of leadership? Is it their brand of entertainment or their brand of social work? Truly, being known in your field can influence the general public.

In a society where various organizations and associations abound, working on the PMAP brand poses a challenge. That is why during our planning at the start of 2007, the current Officers and Board of Directors focused on implementing an awareness campaign that will put the PMAP brand at the top.

What is it exactly that embodies the premiere People Management association in the country? My answer lies in its capacity to lead and advocate professional and socially relevant programs that will enhance the practice of people management in the Philippines.

PMAP should become the leader in enriching the values in human capital management and in bringing forth the latest trends in people management practice to the countless young and experienced professionals in the country. (BLURB)

I believe that the challenge of branding PMAP as the premiere people management organization and therefore the organization of choice, can be overcome by further increasing our membership, innovating our various training programs, strengthening our advocacy campaigns, improving our publicity campaign and of course, encouraging our members to actively participate in the organization.

In the fifty years that PMAP has existed, it has certainly established a firm and credible reputation of being the organization for human resource managers. We have definitely achieved so much. Now, as we look forward to another fifty years, I enjoin you, dear readers and members, to be a part of pioneering a new PMAP: a PMAP not just for human resource managers but for every sort of managers, a PMAP that professionals can rely on to convey the most commendable support in advancing their profession and organization. (BLURB)

I am most certain that with your active participation and assistance, PMAP can achieve what it yearns to be. Together, we can make the new PMAP a brand that every people manager will recognize!
